Worth the drive!
Darla and Geoff’s garden started with clay and weeds on all four sides of the home in 1993. Slowly, the husband and wife team (and their kids) have adapted their 1/3 + acre yard to their family needs and activities. The front yard is casual and inviting, with a seating area where the couple visits with neighbors and enjoys a variety of plants with purple hues.
The back yard has several ‘rooms’ under the patio cover, plus a pool and fire table. The plantings around the pool are mostly tropical. One side yard is planted with lots of roses, citrus and banana trees. The other side of the house has a more cottage-like feel, with plantings along a row of decorative wine bottles that light the way to the backyard at night.
Stairs lead down to the secret garden below - with lilacs, fruit trees, roses and complete with a hammock, crow’s nest, and a hand-built and lovingly decorated she-shed constructed by the Miller men. The lower area looks out to Whiting Ranch Wilderness with occasional views of Catalina. There are fairy gardens sprinkled throughout the yard for an extra treat! Welcome and enjoy!
