The inspiration for this garden was to create a place to feel like a peaceful retreat. Large trees in the yard limited the sunny areas, so every sunny area was used to grow garden roses as well as fragrant flowers and flowering bushes that attract hummingbirds and butterflies. Even the pool was created to look like a large pond where ivy and bushes overrun it a bit.

Fountains attract birds and birdhouses have been homes for blue birds and wrens for many years.  The back part of the yard has a long stream that is a favorite place to host many gatherings and even a wedding with family and friends. A metal arbor growing a rose and a small gazebo over a fountain are treasured pieces from the Mary Lou’s Heard ‘s Nursery. The small pink greenhouse is a place to relax, enjoy nature, and to grow seedlings.
