A true garden is never static! Having lived in a 1947 “fixer-upper” for almost 40 years, both the Edwards’ garden and house have been works of love--and angst, frustration, worry, and wonder!
The early years saw the backyard garden divided into two grassy areas with flower borders full of roses, bulbs, and young fruit trees. Enough tomatoes were grown each year to last through the winter. As the trees and bushes matured, sun-loving plants gave way to more ferns, begonias, tillandsias, and other more shade-loving plant varieties.
During COVID (not the best time to have started a renovation project!) a new addition resulted in the covered patio being transformed into a vine-covered pergola. Nestled throughout the garden are homes for fairies, pots of interesting succulents, Bonsai, and annual flowers.
At the back of the garden, Eddie the African Sulcata tortoise keeps a watchful eye for anything growing in his domain. Janet, Jerry, and Eddie welcome you to their garden!
