Editor’s Note: Treat yourself to the resort style walkways through this summer dry perfection—A MUST SEE!

After periods of severe drought conditions, the homeowners replaced most of their landscape plants with arid-adapted plants over the course of several years. The garden features a variety of succulents arranged over many landscaped beds. Many of the plants are labeled, making it feel as if you are walking through an exhibit. The abundance of pathways provide access to most areas of the garden. An arroyo in the front garden not only mimics a natural desert drainageway, but is functional as well. A variety of wildlife find areas of the garden suitable as their natural habitat. The garden was recently showcased on PBS, and was a winner of the 2019 Roger’s Gardens California Friendly Garden contest.
