Editor’s Note: Love roses and sweet peas? This garden is a MUST SEE for you! But, this cul-de-sac has very limited parking. We suggest that visitors park on Via Medono or park further north on Via Madrugada near the Liimatainen garden.

This garden invites you to enter under a graceful arbor covered with Eden roses flanked by a custom fence (she designed/he built) that serves as a backdrop for more plantings that change with the seasons. A stepping stone path to the left is edged with dwarf boxwood and allows for a closer view of roses, foxgloves, sweet peas, poppies, and corncockle that provide cut flowers for many gifted bouquets. The gardener is a long-time rose lover and the garden includes hybrid tea, miniature, shrub, and David Austin roses. Two more roses may be found scrambling across a trellis that frames the garage doors. Across the driveway you’ll find a charming bench under a rose-covered arbor (great photo spot!), plus towering hollyhocks, French lavender, alstroemeria and more roses. Through the gate you will pass through a series of grapevine-covered arbors and see shade-loving plants including many hydrangeas and a fountain that the birds never leave! The back hardscape was completed recently, and plantings include many evergreen shrubs, as well as olive and forest pansy trees. Several owner-built structures along the back fence provide privacy and places for vines to grow, while brick pathways invite visitors to take a peaceful stroll. Look closely and you may even find a few bunnies keeping watch over their domain!
