A master gardener, Debi worked in the rose garden at The Chicago Botanical Gardens.

Upon moving into the 1946 cottage in Corona del Mar three years ago, Debi had a big job ahead of her. The garden had not been tended to in years. After removing rocks and an asparagus fern infestation, she redesigned and developed the landscape. A master gardener, Debi worked in the rose garden at The Chicago Botanical Gardens.

In the front garden, she has planted 23 varieties of roses. She also has a love for succulents, which you will find a variety of throughout the garden. A hawthorn hedge, olive tree, bottlebrush tree, azaleas, iris, birds of paradise, lavender, and seasonal perennials grace the landscape. An outdoor living area in front is where the Campbells greet neighbors and invite them to stop in as they walk by.

The back patio area is a secluded outdoor entertaining space that is lined by nine different varieties of camellia trees that are roughly 50 years old. Western sword ferns circle the bricked patio that includes a colorful water fountain and potted orchids. An area that was empty has been transformed into a stepping stone garden planted with Korean moss, silver carpet, and a variety of succulents. Debi has created a space for her potting bench with whimsical hanging garden signage and foliage.
